We had to install this microwave in our small kitchen over the new 6-burner gas cooktop where there was no air vent installed. My wife and I use this every day and with it's air recirculation/filtration built into it, it is perfect for us. We have had no excessive heat interference from the cooktop as it was installed per the instructions for height above cooktop requirements.

This microwave is very functional, it was installed in our house when we moved in and it's been working fine, but I personally would not have chosen it. It's very large, it has an extra rack that needs to be stored somewhere, and for day - to - day purposes I see no need to have such a large and multi-layered microwave. I'd prefer more storage space in my kitchen. Also, the spinning is a bit bumpy.

Except for leaving hand/finger smudges on the black glass door, I'm quite happy with my new Jenn-Air Microwave. Smudges are hard to clean. You can wipe all day, smudging remains. Not good in describing things but I couldn't be more pleased with my purchased. If my wife was still alive I'm sure she'd be proud of the decision I made to purchase this Microwave. We installed our first JennAir in 1974 when we remodeled the kitchen after we bought this house. That microwave never gave us any trouble until it just recently died.
